Flower Centerpiece Ideas

Things around the house can be used to create unique and different flower arrangements for different types of tables.  The type of arrangement can only be limited by one’s imagination.  Whatever the occasion, a flower centerpiece is sure to bring joy and pleasure to those who see it.

A large houseplant that looks like a miniature tree is a good basic material.  The branches can be decorated at the base with sprigs of greenery and some flowers.  The plant should be watered first so that the greens and stems can easily be inserted into the soil.  Orchids are very suitable for this type of arrangements as well as yellow flowers and chili peppers.

A ginger jar placed inside a larger bubble bowl sporting monochromatic colors would be a beautiful “vase within a vase” container where short-stemmed roses can be displayed.  The water, of course, should be inside the ginger jar.  This can be tied in any color of choice like using red velvet to wrap the ginger jar and red roses or yellow silk with yellow roses and shimmery cloth with white lilies. 

A layer of palm-sized rocks placed at the bottom of a bubble bowl filled about a third with water is perfect for a fun and funky look.  With lemon slices and a whole lemon or two floated on the water, the bowl can be used as a vase for yellow roses, preferably stripped of its leaves.  A shallow, silver pan with water wrapped with a piece of metallic fabric around the base can be used when a more glamorous and formal look is desired.  The finishing touch is provided by floating some flower petals such as gardenia on the water.
